Due to recent negative experiences and problems with the application process, some updates have been made to ensure that visa applications can be processed more regularly and smoothly.

Information on Visa Application Fee

In accordance with the Schengen Law, C type Schengen visa application fee will be 90 EUR instead of 80 EUR as of 11 June 2024. From this date, the amount to be paid for visa applications will be 90 EUR. As of the same date, the visa application fee for applicants between the ages of 6 - 12, who are not citizens of the Republic of Turkey, is 45 EUR instead of 40 EUR. For applicants between 6 - 12 years of age, who are not citizens of the Republic of Turkey, the amount to be paid is 45 EUR.

Important announcement

Due to the recent inappropriate approach of visa applicants to an official authority, the Consulate General's visa section telephone line has had to be suspended for a period of time as of 27 May 2024. No outside calls will be accepted regarding visa matters

Information

The Consulate General of Hungary in Istanbul will be closed between 23 December 2023 and 2 January 2024 due to Christmas and New Year holidays.

Information

Due to the Feast of the Sacrifice (Kurban Bayramı), the Consulate General will be closed between June 24 and July 2, 2023. Only emergency cases are managed in this period for Hungarian citizens being in trouble.

New appointment system for D-visas

Please kindly note that as of 1st April, 2022 appointments for residence permit (D visa) applications can only be booked in the online appointment system by purpose of stay (work, study, Enter Hungary program, D-visa application with signature authorization, etc.). In case you choose the wrong type of purpose of stay in the appointment system, we cannot receive your application when you come to the Consulate and you have to book a new appointment.

To the attention of Turkish lorry drivers

In order to avoid traffic jam at the Röszke Hungarian-Serbian border, please note that Turkish lorry drivers transporting plant and vegetable products which were already examined before entering Hungary can use all the Hungarian-Serbian border-crossing points (not only Röszke) where there are no plant and animal health checkpoints.
